  • Five migration stories:

Five migration stories were telling five individual stories about their migration experience, including the reasons why they chose to migrate to Australia, how long they have taken for applying for citizenship, and what their life like after they migrated to Australia. By reading these stories students will become familiar to those people who migrated to Australia and build an interest to start getting to know their cultures.

  • Small Object big story:

This website includes very detailed procedures to tell students the instructions and support them with their experience step by step. It is also a checklist for children to use after this unit to see what they have done. And this experience is a good idea for children to build their interest in exploring migrated people’s cultural values.

  • Immigration Australia timeline:

This website shows a clear guide of the Australia immigration timeline, and can be effective to use as the start of this experience. There are only 9 sections to show the main information of events. Students will get an idea of which time period they wish to explore and research after reading this.

  • 70 years of Australian post-war migration:

To compare with Immigration Australia timeline website we used at the start, this video is very detailed. It's hard to tell the students and the teachers of how many events the editor has told in this video, but it is very detailed so students can choose some of the points to explore after watching. Using video as a visual tool to support children to understand the changes and differences between each time period.

  • A history of the department of immigration:

This handbook is very detailed for students to read, it is a thick book with a lot of effective information. Students can read this book at home to meet their interest. But the main point of choosing this handbook to support the experience is there are some useful and clear information that can help children to explore a particular time period and support them with their posters.
