Students will investigate the history of immigration within Australia. Students will explore the various reasons the people chose to migrate to Australia and the impact of the immigration to Australian history including to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders.
Students will be able to:
Explain the definitions of multiculturalism, culture and diversity.
Explore the reasons why people migrated to Australia.
Identify cultural beliefs and values, including similarities and differences
Explore their development of Intercultural understanding.
Understand and explain the impact of immigration to Australian history including to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders.
Use empathy and respect to people who shared their migrating stories.
